Holiness or Hell (Audio)Submitted by EarlHall on Mon, 04/28/2008 - 08:15 |
Holiness or Hell. Now, most of us have heard of this concept. We sing songs
about trying to make 100 because 99 ½ just won’t do. I for one do believe that
we need to make the choice of whether or not we are going to serve God every
second of the day. My pastor Elder Ancil Carruthers use to say that this thing
is more than just day to day, it’s second to second. You see we face temptation
every day. We have to be equipped to handle what is going to happen at all
times. How do we do that? Well you must first have a made up mind. When you have
a made up mind, you look at things differently. You don’t see how close to the
line you can get without sinning. Instead you move constantly in the opposite
direction of temptation. We are flooded daily with images, sounds, and thoughts
from the enemy to try and lead us from having our minds stayed on God. Oh yes,
it’s hard, but when you live the life, you will become more and more mature and
aware of how to fight off the enemy.
One of the things that is causing people to consistently and constantly fall
to temptation is a lack of knowledge. The Bible even lets us know that we perish
for lack of knowledge. Did you know that you do not have to sin? Ok there are
about 300 listening right now saying this man is crazy. Well when you go into
the fight with a defeated attitude, you will always lose. This understanding
that we do not have to fall to temptation will make a big difference in your
spiritual life. I’m not going to charge you for it and no you don’t have to send
in for a prayer cloth. Here it is.
When Jesus died and rose again, he concurred sin, death, and the grave. He
also put in you the same spirit that he has. The Holy Spirit. Now you have to
ask yourself some questions. If the same spirit that was in Jesus when he walked
the earth that kept Him from sin is in me, then why can’t I live “free from
sin”? Ok, I know I got the once saved always save folks in an uproar now, so
lets go to scripture. The point is you can live a life without sin.
