How Can I Grow My Business Using New Media
I had a conversation today with a nice woman looking to grow her business. After dealing with so many clients over the years I realize that people have tremendous skills, but need help in many other areas. For example, just because you are an accountant does not me that you can run a successful accounting firm.
You see having a skill does not automatically mean you can run a successful business using that skill. I started my business back in 1999 and quickly realized that just having my skills in engineering was not going to instantly propel my firm to the top. Like most entrepreneurs, I had to be everything from the owner to the janitor and everything in between.
I started to realize that I needed to find people that played at things that I had to work at. So what did I do? I started forming alliances with other entrepreneurs that ran businesses in accounting, marketing, web site development and other skill sets that I desperately needed. Sure you may need to handle all of these aspects on your own initially, but if you want to grow and truly run a successful business, you must only concentrate on what you are best at.
Through trial and error, I quickly discovered that I hated engineering, but loved creativity. This is how I got into doing what I do now. I found my passion in new media and learnedthat it was the wave of the future. You see new media involves the videos, podcasts, and live streaming that you see all over the net.
“How can I grow my business using new media?” is a question that I have been consistently asked. Google purchased YouTube in 09′ because they realized just how important video is in our brave new world. Blogs and articles still play an important role in SEO and getting good search engine rankings for your site, but video is becoming more and more important. The reason for this is simple. PEOPLE LIKE WATCHING VIDEOS.
Creating informative videos that give great “how to” info or great news and information is much more entertaining than simply reading. If I want to know how to train my dog, I don’t want to read it, I want to watch and see how it’s done. I know I am not alone on this.
When you learn the process of using new media to drive traffic to your site you will understand how to truly develop a business that has all the prospects it needs, makes a great profit, and provides you the life style you want. Get more information by clicking here.
